Superintendent Search

You play an important role in the search for the next Superintendent of Otsego Public Schools. There are two opportunities for you to provide your input on the qualities, experiences and skills that you would like to see in the next leader of our district. 

The Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) is assisting our Board of Education in the search process and with input from our stakeholders will develop the profile of the ideal candidate. We are encouraging you to participate in the process, starting with this online survey. The Otsego Superintendent Search Input Survey is open now through January 27th. 

Survey responses are sent directly to MASB in Lansing for tabulation. The Board will publicly consider the input received and develop a candidate profile, which will guide the process as candidates are recruited and selected for public interview. 

The other opportunity is an in-person input session.

• On Tuesday, January 28th, you’re invited to meet with our MASB consultant from 5:15-6:15pm at the Washington Street Elementary Media Center. The consultant is meeting with staff and students earlier in the day. The Board of Education will consider all stakeholder input later that evening to develop the Candidate Profile.

The initial job posting will be made public January 20, 2025 with additional profile information posted after the input sessions. The posting closes March 3, 2025 at 4:00pm. 

The Board of Education is expected to choose candidates for first-round interviews on March 13 with those interviews to take place on March 22. Second-round interviews will tentatively take place on March 25 with a decision to immediately follow. NOTE: All interviews take place in a public meeting and the public is invited to attend, provide questions and provide written feedback.

The new superintendent will officially begin at Otsego Public Schools on July 1, 2025.
