Otsego Public Schools is pleased to welcome Sarah Patin to her new role as Assistant Principal at Otsego High School.

Patin brings a wealth of experience in education. Having served as a teacher and Assistant Principal at Otsego Middle School, she is closely connected to the Otsego community. A graduate of Western Michigan University, she began her career teaching high school Spanish, spending 15 years at a school north of Grand Rapids. During that time, she was actively involved in coaching, advising, and serving as a teacher-leader.

Her connection to Otsego began in 2015, when she joined Otsego Middle School as a Spanish teacher, teaching seventh- and eighth-grade students for high school credit. In 2023, she stepped into the role of Assistant Principal at OMS, where she continued building relationships with students, staff, and families.

Throughout her time in Otsego, Patin has also been actively involved in the school and community as a coach, advisor, and volunteer. Her family has deep roots in the district, as her husband, Rob, is a former high school ELA teacher, and their two sons, also Otsego Bulldogs.

As she begins her new role at OHS, Patin is especially excited to support students as they navigate their goals and plans for the future.

“I am also looking forward to reconnecting with students who I knew and worked with as middle schoolers.” Patin shared. 

Patin hopes students, families, and staff know that she is deeply invested in the Otsego community and believes strongly in the potential of every student.

“I love Otsego—the school, the community, the people,” she said. “I believe all students can learn, and I want high school to be memorable and meaningful for all of our students.”

Outside of school, Patin enjoys supporting her sons and their friends in extracurricular activities, reading, watching sports, going for walks, and all things Disney. She is also a fan of Michigan sports, cheering on the Wolverines, Tigers, Pistons, and Lions. Her family also enjoys watching WWE together… a tradition she says her sons would be disappointed if she left out!

And for a fun fact? Before beginning her career in education, Patin was a starter in an all-star high school basketball game.

Her favorite movie is The Sound of Music, and she is currently reading The Calamity Club.
