Aiming for a new experience with each year’s musical, Vocal Music Director Meredith Lincoln tapped into our students' younger years in selecting “High School Musical”. They likely know almost all the words and the songs already - it was a major Disney hit during their elementary years - but the musical will offer them so much more. “The students at Otsego will thrive doing this musical,” says Mrs. Lincoln, “We want the musical each year to be a fun but educational experience and we believe “High School Musical” will offer that to our students.”
This musical incorporates a lot that others don’t. For one, basketball. “This is such a fun aspect to bring to the stage,” she says. There will be huge dance numbers, math, basketball, lots of role opportunities and of course singing and drama. But this show also provides a great lesson in growing up. “This musical teaches that no matter what "clique" you are in, you can still branch out and be a part of whatever you would like. This musical teaches students that they are not defined by just one title. They can be whatever and whoever they want to do.”
The cast, school and community are excited for this show! Tickets are just $13-$15 and can be purchased right now online at otsegops.tix.com. Once again, the cast will put on a sensory performance that is adjusted slightly for those audience members with sound or eyesight sensitivities.
