Remote / Hybrid Learning Plans

NOTE: Otsego High School be in the Remote Learning Plan April 12-16.
Alternate HYBRID LEARNING PLAN

Otsego Middle School students will begin an alternate Hybrid Learning Plan starting Monday, April 12th. That week involves testing for 8th graders.

Otsego High School will begin the alternate Hybrid Learning Plan on Monday, April 19th.

Please look at the April calendars carefully to know when your child should report to school.

  • Blue Group - attends school on Mondays & Thursday and every other Wednesday; remote learning takes place on Tuesday & Friday.
  • Gold Group - attends school in person on Tuesdays & Fridays and every other Wednesday; remote learning takes place on Mondays & Thursdays.

Due to testing, the week of April 12th will be different for middle school students:
  • Monday, April 12th - Blue group students attend in person
  • Tuesday, April 13th - Only 8th grade students attend in person for OMS.
  • Wednesday, April 14th - OMS Gold group attends in person
  • Thursday, April 15th - Blue group students attend in person
  • Friday, April 16th - Gold group students attend in person
What does it look like?
  • Students will receive instruction both in person and at home online through Google Classroom and/or packets.
  • At-home, remote learning days will contain new content and will align with in-person instructional days. Teachers will prepare students for their at-home content that best aligns with current units of study. This is a not a live instructional model, families have flexibility in completing student work to meet the needs of family schedules.
  • In-person instruction is spread out through the week (M/Th or T/F) to provide students with directions and guidance for at-home work; to provide a mid-week, in-person check-in to help with questions, assignments and preparedness for the following remote learning day(s); and reduces the number of remote learning days in a row.
  • Content taught in the Hybrid Learning Plan is the same for both Blue & Gold groups.
  • Classrooms will have approximately 12-15 students each (whenever possible.)
  • Low class size allows for social distancing practices, increased space in rooms
REMOTE LEARNING PLAN
There may be times during the 2020-21 School Year in which students will be in the Remote Learning Plan. This is instruction that will take place while students are at home. This may be due to state or local health orders, insufficient staffing levels due to COVID-19 cases or a community spread of COVID-19 taking place in our schools. You will find details of the Remote Learning Plan for our grade levels below. If you have any questions, please contact your building principal.
