This springtime tradition is always an exciting one for our students and the community. It's the hottest ticket in town no matter what show takes the stage! These high school musical productions involve about 100 people with actors, stage crew, technical crew and those behind the scenes putting together sets, props and costumes. It's an incredible effort that doesn't disappoint! Get your tickets now!
Otsego is excited to present a special sensory performance this year for the OHS musical "Cinderella"! A performance like this tones down the special effects and eases the house rules for the audience. This is geared to those with autism, dementia, sensory processing disorder, or those who have light and sound sensitivity. The auditorium will not be completely dark, some house lights will be on; any loud, startling parts of the play will be toned down, it will be okay for audience members to sing along, make noise or get up and go to the lobby during the performance to take a break. The show will be displayed on a screen in the lobby area for people to continue to enjoy the show even if they need to step out.
We hope you'll join us for this special performance on Thursday, March 21st at 6:30 p.m.
To help prepare your student, we've developed a social story of the performance for you to download and print out, as well as adjust as needed for your particular needs. Just click on the file below.
If you are unfamiliar with this type of performance, check out this YouTube video from People's Light
where they describe how they've adjusted their performances and share the experiences from audience and cast members.
