Free Meal Service Continues for 2021-22 School Year

Otsego Public Schools will continue to provide FREE meals throughout the school year for all children ages 0-18. This is for ALL children, regardless of need. Every child is eligible to receive 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches per week. In-person students will get breakfast and lunch served at school. For kids not yet in school or Otsego Virtual Academy students, we will have once a week pick-up with all five meals.

If you'd like to pre-order meals for your children, you will need to fill out the request form each week. MEAL REQUEST FORM (Must be filled out EACH WEEK by 9pm Sunday)

Thank you for making us your only stop for meals!  We love serving our community and we want to ensure all families who wish to receive meals can do so.  Meals are available for children and youth 18 years and younger in your household.  Meals are available for pick-up once a week at the high school. Please only visit one distribution site in your community; this helps us ensure there are enough meals for all children.  Thank you for your cooperation.  This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Breakfast/Lunch Menu Changes Possible -

Due to issues with the supply chain, our daily menu items may need to change. Demand is now up with all schools back in session in full, so schools all across the state and country are facing this issue.

There will never be a day without additional lunch choices, however the choices might change due to supply. While we order enough per our planned menu, there are times when what we order is not available, or not in the quantities we need to serve all buildings.

We will do our best to alert families of any changes as we learn of them, but some will be day-of decisions based on deliveries. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Online Meal Account

OPS uses the Send Money To School website as our online tool to add money to your child's lunch account. Parents can add money to their child's account by bringing in cash or a check to school or going online and adding them with a credit or debit card. To set up an account, you will need your child's school ID number which you can find in Infinite Campus. If you have trouble with this online link, contact Julie Guthrie, at 269-694-7447.

Free & Reduced Meals

Even though school meals are free for the 2021-22 school year, Free & Reduced Applications impact other areas of funding for the district. We need families to complete and submit a FREE & REDUCED PRICE MEAL APPLICATION as soon as possible. We encourage ALL families to complete this. Please fill out the form if you have not done so already. You can apply at www.lunchapp.com.  If you would like a paper application, they are available at the Administration Office or any school office.
Cafeteria Safety Procedures
Our cafeteria staff have always implemented sanitation of work surfaces, hand-washing, disinfecting and food safety. This year, we have adjusted procedures for safer service.
  • There is no self-serve by the students
  • We pre-package and wrap products whenever available
  • Disposable towels are used for cleaning and sanitizing
  • Social distancing is in place in the cafeteria, fewer students are seated at each table
  • Hand sanitizer stations are at all entrances to the cafes
