Thanks to the generosity of the Otsego community and high school students, staff and families, the OHS Student Council Food Drive surpassed its goal and collected almost 5,000 food items. This drive provides food for 125 families through the Otsego Christmas Basket Project. Students display the donations along the windows in the cafeteria area to show the progress of their drive. They packed up the items on Thursday, November 15th to give to local churches who make up the baskets.
The National Honor Society will be next to help out this need; NHS members run the annual toy drive which provides gifts for these families at the holidays. The toy drive is a donation drive with a goal of $2500. There are usually more than 200 children to buy for with that money. NHS students shop for the kids to be sure that all gifts are equally valued. If you’d like to donate, contact Lori Laughlin at email@example.com.
