Starting with t-ball at age seven, Kassidy Wesaw quickly focused her attention to softball. She joined a travel team at age 9 and will keep playing after high school graduation. She’s signed her letter of intent to play softball at K College.
“I’m so excited, this is the college of my dreams so I’m beyond ecstatic,” Wesaw says. She’s always wanted to go to K College for their academics so getting to go there and play softball is a win win. “It’s an amazing school and I fell in love with the campus and the culture there.”
She’s played all four high school years (this coming season included) on Varsity and earned 2nd-team all-conference her freshman year and other MVP awards. As a part of her travel team, Browns Fastpitch, she was a part of the team that went to the final four in the world series which was “pretty cool” to play teams from all over the country. Now, she’s simply excited to play at the next level in a game she loves, “I really like that it’s fast-paced. I like the competitiveness of it. I like the comradery, the relationships you build with your teammates and being able to trust them.” Wesaw plays catcher, middle infield and outfield. She likes all of them, “they’re all different.”
Wesaw plans to challenge herself off the field as well as on, taking on studies in biology to eventually pursue a career in environmental science.
